We require all such persons to respect the security of your personal information and to treat it in accordance with applicable law and are bound to handle it with the highest degree of confidentiality and in full compliance with applicable data protection laws: oOther sonographers, medical practitioners, allied healthcare professionals, hospitals, laboratories, and relevant companies involved in my or my dependent’s/unborn child’s medical care to ensure informed medical insight and continuity of care. oThe ultrasound practice’s staff and representatives for communication and coordination of my treatment, including sharing medical reports and ultrasound images with my referring doctor, and collecting relevant pregnancy-related information. oContractors, medical aid schemes, gap cover providers, and external service providers involved in hygiene, laboratories, hospital services, IT, billing, legal, nursing, and administrative support—each of whom is required to comply with the provisions of the POPI Act. oThe practice’s appointed auditors and financial consultants for purposes related to financial reporting and regulatory compliance. oRegistered debt recovery agencies and credit bureaus, if any account payments remain outstanding. oLegal representatives or attorneys within the relevant jurisdiction in the event of any litigation initiated by or against me or the practice. oAuthorised medical imaging and data management platforms, including but not limited to PACS, Carestream, and XERO, for the secure access and review of imaging records. 8. Payment Terms

We accept cash, card (debit/credit) or some medical aids.

  • At Sonocare ultrasound we accept some medical aids. We charge rates similar to that of most medical aids.

  • Whilst the account remains your responsibility to settle, we will submit accounts on your behalf to your medical aid scheme if it is in good standing.

  • To facilitate this, we require your permission to do so, proof of current membership and confirmation that we have your correct medical aid membership and personal details.

  • It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with your medical scheme rules and regulations and what you are covered for.

  • Some medical schemes offer highly restrictive benefits and may require co-payments.

  • Scheme rules may specify that the scheme will only settle your account from any amount that is available in your medical savings account.

  • If you have no funds available or you have no savings benefit you are responsible for the account and have to settle the account, the same day after completion of the scan.

  • If co-payments are needed it has to paid on the day services are rendered.

  • Or if we received feedback from your medical aid obtained at a later stage you will be informed of the shortfall via email or WhatsApp, and the amount must be settled immediately.

PRIVATE-PAYING PATIENTS

  • Private patients will be billed at our standard private rate.

  • All accounts must be settled in full immediately upon completion of the ultrasound examination.

  • Accepted payment methods include debit and credit cards (excluding American Express). Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs) are not accepted.

  • SA residents who have contracts with insurance companies or international medical aid schemes are required to settle their accounts with us on the day of examination.  It will then be up to you to claim it back form the insurer or international medical aid.

  • ​​​Your ultrasound will be conducted by a qualified HPCSA licensed sonographer.​​

  • Please note, the sonographer is not a medical doctor but specialises in ultrasound diagnostics.

  • Sonocare Ultrasound (PTY) LTD is not authorized to diagnose or treat any medical conditions.​

  • The results will be communicated to both you and your referring doctor via detailed medical report.

  • Ultrasound serves as a diagnostic tool to monitor potential conditions and assist in planning further management.​If any issues or potential concerns are identified during your scan, it is essential to seek medical treatment from your referring doctor or another healthcare provider.
